Moving Your Blog To Squarespace

After hearing such great things about Squarespace, I decided to migrate Blogger. As much as I love Google and all their services, Blogger was no longer sufficient.  I’m big time now, I made a few bucks after a year of hard work.  This poor investment is going a loooong way.

Squarespace makes it very easy to migrate, it took about 15 minutes and a couple of clicks.  It even migrated all my post images over, and disabled the old blog without worry. There are a plethora of unique and beautiful templates to choose from, and it took me a whole weekend to find the right one.

However, I didn't realize a number of things would break along the way.  None of these have anything to do with Squarespace, but there was a lot of cleanup I didn't foresee. My RSS feedburner broke and Disqus comments didn't migrate, and all of my previous Facebook Likes, Twitter Tweets, and Google Plus hits were reset.

In the end, moving from Blogger to Squarespace was easy, as advertised.  All of the side pieces, not so much.  You need to keep this in mind if you ever decide to move your blog. It’s simple enough for the novice, but versatile for Web Designers who want to go full blown CSS.

You can sign up for a free trial, and test the import blog feature. Give it a shot, you've got nothing to lose.
